Second Generation

3. James H. HINTON^2,3 was born about 1814.⁴ In 1860 he was a farmer in Edgecombe County, North Carolina.⁴ He died in 1874 at the age of 60.

James H. HINTON and Martha Louise PROCTOR³ were married.⁵ Martha Louise PROCTOR^2,3,5 was born in May 1825.^4,5,6 (Her tombstone at George W. Griffin Cemetery, Nash, County, NC gives her year of birth as 1826.) She was living in 1900 at home of her daughter Malvina and son-in-law William Long in Cokey Township 13, Edgecombe County, North Carolina.⁶ She died in 1906 at the age of 81.^5,6

James H. HINTON and Martha Louise PROCTOR had the following children:
