Attention: | Mr. Robert L. Keuch Deputy Assistant Attorney General Criminal Division |
Dear Mr. Attorney General:
In connection with its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of President John F. Kennedy, the Select Committee on Assassinations requests access to any and all files from the Springfield and Kansas City, Missouri offices of the Federal Bureau of Investigation concerning or referring to Alveeta Treon or John Hurt. Mrs. Treon is a resident of Springfield, Missouri, who provided information to the local FBI office that Lee Harvey Oswald attempted to place a call from the Dallas Jail on November 23, 1963 to John Hurt of Raleigh, North Carolina. It is believed that Mrs. Treon related the information to SA Jim Mitchell (now retired) of the Springfield FBI office.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this request.
Sincerely,
|
G. Rober Blakey, Chief Counsel and Director |
