15. Cullen HOOKS was born in 1795 in Wayne County, North Carolina.³ He died after 1837 at the age of 42 in Wayne County, North Carolina.¹²

Cullen HOOKS and Martha BARNES were married in 1814 in Wayne County, North Carolina.³ Martha BARNES³ was born about 1795 in Wayne County, North Carolina. She lived in Wayne County, North Carolina in 1850.¹² The 1850 Census showed the widowed Martha living with children Rebecca (age 30), Hardy (age 21), Martha (age 16), Drucilla (age 14), and Sarah (age 12). She died about 1864 at the age of 69 in Wayne County, North Carolina.

Cullen HOOKS and Martha BARNES had the following children:

23	i.	Rebecca HOOKS was born on 27 January 1816.³ The 1850 Census lists Rebecca's age as 30 years old, indicating that she was born about 1820.

32	x.	Sally (Sarah?) HOOKS¹² was born about 1838.¹²
