134. Barnes Cullon HOOKS was born on 10 February 1887 in North Carolina.³² While his tombstone lists his birth in 1887, the 1900 U.S. Census lists Barnes as having been born in February 1886.
In 1900 he was a farm laborer in Fremont, Wayne County, North Carolina.³² He was buried in 1986 at Fremont Cemetery in Fremont, Wayne County, North Carolina. Barnes died on 7 June 1986 at the age of 99. His father (Ransom) gave money to him to build a brick house in country so he could live with one of his children. After house was built, Barnes told his father there was no room for him. His father committed suicide soon after.

Barnes Cullon HOOKS and Mary Frances WOODARD were married about 1907.⁴⁰ Mary Frances WOODARD was born on 12 March 1888.⁴⁰ She was buried in 1983 at Fremont Cemetery in Fremont, Wayne County, North Carolina. She died on 6 February 1983 at the age of 94.
