PROCTOR^31,32 was born on 30 March 1920 in Edgecombe County, North Carolina.⁵⁶ The contemporaneous NC Birth Index lists Henry as "Henry Proctor, Jr." and he was listed as "Henry Jr." in the 1930 U.S. Census. However, sometime before 1941, he dropped the "Junior" and added a middle initial "W." for reasons that are not known. In 1952 he was a Service Manager for Yates Auto Service in Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. In 1953 he was a Supervisor at Farm Bureau Mutual Automobile Insurance in Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina.⁵⁷ In 1954 Henry was a Department Manager at Farm Bureau Insurance in Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina.⁵⁸ In 1955 he was a Parts Manager of Boyette's Automotive in Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina.⁵⁹ He lived in Moncure, Chatham County, North Carolina in 1963.⁶⁰ Henry lived in Moncure, Chatham County, North Carolina in 1971.⁶ He died on 17 May 2003 at the age of 83 in Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina.

Henry W. PROCTOR and Dorothy Mae "Dot" MOONEYHAM⁶¹ were married before 1952.^61,62 They^61,62 lived at 305 S. Henry W. PROCTOR and Suzanne Palmer JERNIGAN were married on 7 July 1963 in Haw River Township, Chatham County, North Carolina.⁶⁰ The NC Marriage Registry lists Henry's age at the time of his marriage to Suzanne as 42, though he was actually 43. Suzanne's age was given as 35. The wedding was officiated by George A. Hill, a minister, and the witnesses were E. C. Jernigan of Route 1, Newport, NC; Henry's brother Grover Proctor of 1001 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC; and R. T. Jackson of 421 Raleigh Street, Oxford, NC. Suzanne Palmer JERNIGAN⁶⁰ was born about 1928.⁶⁰ She received a Bachelor's degree in 1948 at East Carolina Teachers College in Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina. Suzanne majored in Social Science and English, and while at ECTC, she was a member of the International Relations Club, the Future Teachers of America, the Caterbury Club, and the Women's Chorus.
